The team swam at the City of Leeds meet on 13/14/15th April, it was a positive experience with many personal best achieved and much experience gained. Millie Gidman (14yrs) swam 6 personal best and won a silver medal in an outstanding 100fly posting a time of 1.08.50, she would later win a bronze in the 100m backstroke in a time of 1.12.28. Hannah Pettener won a bronze medal in the 14yrs 200bk in a time of 2.33.49 and swam to 6 new best times. Archie Lynch in his first long course competition won the 12yrs 200free in a close race in a time of 2.34.73. Megan Pendleton swam to 4 new pbs’ Molly Harwood gained 2 new PB’s. Lee Harrison swam to 9 new best times and made the 100/200 bk final. Emma Harwood showed huge resilience in swimming her first long course 200fly and making the final! She would come away with 4 best times. Emily Brown had very encouraging swims moving forward to regionals making the 100free / 100bk final. Sebastian Swinburne made the 100bk final and swam 4 best times. Louis and Connor Harwood were just outside their best times in there fly events but swam promising races. Overall the Leeds meet was a fantastic blend of experience gained and an opportunity to race the best in the North East. Moving forward we can now make any final adjustments for those competing at regionals and other upcoming competitions. Keep up the good work swimmers! Martin & Harry
