The weather did not prevent the British Championships going ahead at the Edinburgh International Swim Festival, with Wirral Metro’s Freya Anderson leading the way. The reigning European and World Junior Champion successfully defended her British 100m freestyle title as well as winning the junior 200m freestyle. Club colleague Jack Shillinglaw reached the B finals of both the 100m and 200m backstroke finishing fourth in each event with a PB in the latter final. Tori Sopp was another Wirral swimmer in action as she posted a PB in the 50m butterfly. Source: Liverpool Echo
